Ohhhhhhh. This. Ceremony. Shooting this vow renewal was one of the highlights of my year. Stephanie and I were in constant contact before the big day filling me in on all of the exciting details of their upcoming day. My jaw practically fall on the floor when I saw the real thing….Stephanie is a pro at detailed decorating.
Stephanie is a master at her craft. She dreamed and designed up this entire ceremony. Pretty much every detail in the pictures you see was made by her. The barn door, the cake table, and other woodwork were made my Micah himself. The details were just mind blowing. Her dress was handmade by Tawny of Armour Sans Anguish. Not only was it a gorgeous dress but it was made with parts from Stephanie’s original wedding dress from 10 years ago. The little vases of flowers on their cake table and the wings on Stephanie’s bouquet were dedicated to their 2 angel babies who are in Heaven. Just detail after detail with so much thought and care put into this ceremony it was absolutely perfect. Thank you Micah and Stephanie for letting me be a part of your amazing day!
This ceremony was a photographer’s dream; so many gorgeous details, amazing venue, and the natural love between Micah and Stephanie, I coudn’t ask for a more of an honor than to photograph this day. Thank you, Micah and Stephanie for letting me be a part of your incredible day!
I like to hear how the bride and groom felt about their entire day…..this is what Micah and Stephanie said,
We had two reasons for planning our Vow Renewal Ceremony; celebrating our commitment to each other and thanking those kindred friends and family who were instrumental in encouraging and supporting us through our first 10 years of marriage.
The first reason, celebrating each other, was a reason that brought us to tears of thankfulness time and again. And the second reason, thanking our support group, was so very important! While thanking our family and friends, there were two little souls that we couldn’t leave out of the celebration, our Angel babies.
We have two babies in Heaven, and those sweet souls, though we never got to meet them, were hugely responsible for drawing us closer to one another and strengthening our marriage. We began to be kinder and sweeter. We gained a newfound appreciation for our individual strengths and weaknesses. It was through losing them that we learned just how much we truly needed each other!
So the morning of our celebration, Micah, with tears in his eyes, lovingly trimmed several blooms from a rose bush we had planted in their honor. We placed those beautiful, blush pink blooms on our dessert table for all to see! And each time we saw those sweet blooms, it felt as if our babies were there with us, even if only in spirit. We’d like to think that they were watching over us with pride and having their own celebration in Heaven that day!
Our favorite moment of the day, hands down for each of us, was Dad Guzman’s drum solo during our reception!!!! He was soooo nervous, but with tons of encouragement, we were able to convince him to perform for us and our guests that day! And let me tell ya, he blew us all out of the water!!! Rock on, Dad!!!
